About Empangeni Golf Club
Built in 1900, the Empangeni Golf and Country Club has a wealth of both history and natural beauty to draw from as the club continues to provide an excellent game of golf to the residents of the Empangeni and Richards Bay.
Views on offer from the hillside holes include those of Richards Bay, the beautiful green hills and outer lying Indian Ocean. The eighteen-hole course is divided into two very different nines – the first demand accuracy, good shot selection and can be a little tight if you're not careful.
And the second focuses on strong, straight driving and is far more forgiving. While Empangeni is not the kind of course looking to win any awards or feature in SA's top ten lists the humble course provides an excellent challenge for all levels of golfer and is great value for money.
Facilities include a restaurant and bar. There is also a Pro shop, clubs and carts for hire, a tennis court, Bowling Green and squash court. Although no driving range is available you can make use of their practise tee for a quick warm up.
