Located in the Dunkeld Shopping Centre, on the corner of Jan Smuts and Bompas Roads, dw eleven-13 was established in 2009, and continues to prove why it has such an acclaimed reputation for only the best and most adventurous flavour combinations. The menu and the setting are constantly evolving, reinventing themselves as new and exciting foody fashions are started.

There are three menus – an a-la-carte option, a degustation menu and a vegetarian tasting option. The a-la-carte menu is wonderfully diverse and exciting. Starters include prawn, avocado, corn sorbet and poppy seed tuile; seared salmon with ketchup, charred cucumber, apple, salmon roe and oyster coulis; and smoked duck, duck confit, langoustine, corn purée, gnocchi, tarragon, velouté sauce, and bacon powder. Mains comprise pork chop with apple, parsley gel, smoked potato, cabbage and pork jus; kingklip with celeriac, ponzu, orange gel, tempura celery and miso sauce; or Bonsmara rump with smoked bone marrow, mushroom purée, onion cream and carrots. The desserts are simply irresistible. Those with a sweet tooth (or two) should try the brie ice-cream, poached pear, pepper crumble and port gel; the berry sorbet with almond crumble and meringue, or the chocolate sorbet with peppermint dust and hot fudge sauce.

The Grazing Room is an extension of dw eleven-13 and focuses on the Spanish tapas style of cooking and food preparation. A number of plates are prepared, and guests are invited to make their way through them, sampling the hearty flavours and the more subtle nuances of each dish. Wine tastings are sometimes hosted here.
