Metro is a glamorous meeting place, complete with an upstairs ultra lounge and a trendy bistro. The decor is sultry and sumptuous, harkening back to a time of jazz, whiskey and cigar bars, and the atmosphere is decadent. Fireplaces keep you warm whilst wafting from one atmospheric area to the other, while the clinking of glasses and laughter add to the luxurious aesthetic.

The Bistro menu is robust, with no expense spared on delectable ingredients. Feta Prawns are made with garlic and chilli; Sticky Chicken Wings are served with a blue cheese dip; and salads are filled with delicious ingredients, from Smoked Salmon and Watercress, to Grilled Vegetable, with peppered goat's cheese and couscous. Continuing with the robust theme, there are burgers of every description, plus steak rolls, pregos and Dagwoods. Steaks are grilled to perfection, while other succulent meat dishes, such as Lamb Shank on the Bone, Braised Lamb Neck and Pork Ribs, add that ‘wow' factor.

There are ample choices on the poultry menu, and the small selection of seafood dishes run through local favourites. Pasta and Pizza prove popular choices, and the dishes that caught our eye were the Filleto pasta (fillet with mushrooms in a napoetana sauce, with a dash of cream), the Agnello pizza (with lamb, feta, roasted butternut and fresh mint) and the Monaco pizza (with smoked salmon, marscapone cheese, capers, red onions and parsley). Yum!
Stroll over to the bar and indulge in a night cap, while sampling one of the rich desserts on offer.
