About Oudekraal Beach
Oudekraal Beach is a very private and intimate beach which is part of Table Mountain National Park, situated between Llandudno and Bakoven.
It is not very commercial but rather a small haven tucked away and surrounded by large boulders which shelter it nicely and also provide a very safe swimming area. This beach is different from most, there are braai facilities and a grassy area for those not wanting to get too sandy while enjoying you lunch in these divine surroundings.
Scuba divers flock to the area to explore Justins Caves, which is actually a bunch of large boulders smothered in an array of fascinating sea life. You can expect to see some stunning soft corals, and array of majestic sea sponges and sea fans as well as the very famous sea squirts.
If it's a treasure hunt you are after then venture further out to visit the wreck of the Huis te Crayenstein which ran aground on the rocks at Oudekraal in 1698. You may not actually find any actual ‘treasure' but there is a lot to explore and plenty treasures of the sea to be seen. So for a sporting day or a chill out on the beach, Oudekraal will quench your thirst.
