Parsons Hill, Port Elizabeth
Parsons Hill is situated between the Collegiate Girls' Schools (just behind Greenacres) and Diaz Road in North End. This is a quiet residential neighbourhood that is characterised by spacious old homes and large gardens, wide streets and ample pavements. Many of these homes boast views of the North End Lake, the new stadium and the ocean beyond.
Parsons Hill is flanked by Newton Park and Mount Croix and is parallel to Cape Road (part of the N2 motorway). This makes it very central and accessible to visitors to Port Elizabeth, the capital city of the Eastern Cape and the largest constituent of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan.
Greenacres Shopping Centre is a 10-minute walk from the homes of Parsons Hill, and provides countless shops, boutiques, franchises, restaurants, cinemas, fashion hotspots, coffee shops, and plenty more. There is undercover parking, as well as facilities for the physically disabled here.
The stadium, which was built especially for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, is an awesome spectacle of design and engineering. Visitors to this city should definitely pay it a visit and learn more about the beauty behind this impressive project.
The popular beaches are about 15 minutes away from Parsons Hill, as is the busy city centre and the Donkin Heritage Trail, which is marked by 67 pieces of local artworks that are dedicated to the past and future of our Rainbow Nation.
