Parsons Vlei, Port Elizabeth
On the outskirts of the main hubs of Port Elizabeth is the suburb of Parsons Vlei. This is incorporated into the district municipality of Nelson Mandela Bay, which includes Uitenhage and Despatch in addition to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province.
Parsons Vlei is a fairly undeveloped area, surrounded by the suburbs of Greenbushes, Rowallan Park, Kabega and Bethelsdorp. A large proportion of Parsons Vlei lies on Cape Road, which is part of the N2 and eventually extends right through to the Garden Route and Cape Town on one side, as well as to East London and Durban on the other. There are a lot of small holdings in this area, in addition to some old homes and one or two new townhouse developments, which are ideal for first-time home owners.
Parsons Vlei is near to a number of shopping centres and entertainment complexes, including Greenacres and Walmer Park malls. In addition, Jeffrey's Bay is about 60 kilometres away from Parsons Vlei, and is known all around the world for its unique surfing opportunities.
Parsons Vlei is an ideal suburb for small, young families that are just starting out, or for retirees that want the peace and quiet of the countryside, while enjoying the conveniences of being close to local Port Elizabeth attractions.
