Perridgevale, Port Elizabeth
Perridgevale is a residential area that is centrally situated in Port Elizabeth (the largest constituent of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality). Two of its borders are CJ Langenhoven Drive and Diaz Road, which are both busy motorways that are public transport routes and well connected to various other resources. Cape Road, which is the main motorway through PE (in fact, it becomes the N2 and heads directly along the Garden Route to Cape Town) is less than a kilometre from Perridgevale.
Still, despite its being so central and accessible, Perridgevale is rather quiet; maintaining somewhat of a small-town look and feel. The homes and gardens are large, and the wide streets flanked by trees in many places. Many of the homes here boast gorgeous views of the sport stadium, which was built especially for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
Perridgevale is the address of the esteemed Collegiate Girls' School, where ladies from all over the world have enjoyed top-notch schooling since 1874. It is also right behind the Greenacres Shopping Centre, which is the largest mall in Port Elizabeth, and home to hundreds of chains stores, speciality shops and boutiques, as well as restaurants, coffee shops, movie theatres, and more.
The beaches and the airport are a mere 10-minute drive away, on average, making Perridgevale particularly well suited to those wanting to travel the Friendly City.
