With around 800 000 travellers passing through George Airport, it is certainly a busy one; if a little smaller than those in the big cities. George is on the Garden Route, about halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha). This airport was established in 1977 and was called P.W. Botha, after a state president.
