About the Darling Wild Flower Show
The Darling Wildflower Society, with a legacy spanning over a century, hosts its annual Flower Show on the third weekend of September. This event celebrates the remarkable diversity of the Cape Fynbos Kingdom, which includes the Renosterveld, Rietveld, Sandveld, and Strandveld habitats, where more than 1,200 species of flowers flourish.
Visitors to the Darling Flower Show can look forward to an array of activities for all ages. Your ticket grants access to the Landscaped Hall, showcasing the region's flowers in a natural setting. You will also enjoy a complimentary ride on a tractor-drawn wagon to explore the secluded wetland at Oude Post, which is usually off-limits to the public and open only during the Show. Additionally, there is a Craft & Gourmet Food Market, a display of veteran tractors and cars, and an Entertainment Tent featuring live performances by Klassik, a well-known Swartland band, along with other local artists. Ample, secure parking is available for all attendees.
With over 100 food and craft stalls, there will be something to satisfy every palate and shopping desire. Children can revel in a weekend filled with fun in the playpark, which offers activities such as face painting and various rides, while adults can unwind along the Mini Wine Route or in the Beer Tent. A shuttle service will be available, making stops at various points of interest throughout Darling. By attending the Darling Wildflower Show, you will be contributing to the preservation of our endangered floral heritage for generations to come.
