Itinerary

1. DAY 1: Port Elizabeth to Knysna

   We depart from Port Elizabeth in the morning and head towards the Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park. After refreshment stop at the Storms River Bridge we visit the ‘Big Tree', one of the country's oldest and second largest, the Outeniqua Yellow Wood tree which is approximately 800 years old, 37m high and has a circumference of 8.9m (±2.8 diameter). From there we can visit the Storms River Mouth and view the wild coastline of Tsitsikamma. We then travel to the Bloukrans Bridge, which offers the highest Bungee Jump in the world –217m (to participate is an optional extra) which is also the border crossing from the Eastern to the Western Cape. After stopping in Plettenberg Bay for a light lunch we travel on to the Knysna Elephant Park for our stayover.

2. DAY 2: Knysna Elephant Park

   Early in the morning if so desire you may watch the elephants move out into the open area and after breakfast enjoy the ultimate experience of touching and interacting with these magnificent, gentle giants. We then depart for Knysna and take a ferry to the Featherbed Nature Reserve for a wonderful outing and lunch. We return to the Knysna Elephant Park to relax and refresh before dinner in Plettenburg Bay. Overnight in the Park.

3. DAY 3: Knysna to Oudtshoorn

   After breakfast we depart and travel through Knysna, the lake district, Wilderness, George and on to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo (semi-desert). We stop for lunch along the way, wherever we are at the time. We arrive at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge at 14h00 and after checking in our luxury tent we take part in our first Game Drive ending with a sundowner on the mountain before returning to camp for sherry and snacks. Leisure time until 19h00 when we meet at the lodge for a delicious dinner.

4. DAY 4: Oudtshoorn

   After a hearty breakfast we visit the world famous Cango Caves. From here we have lunch and then visit an Ostrich Farm before returning to the Game Lodge to enjoy the animals at the water hole. Dinner is served at 19h00.

   OVERNIGHT: Buffelsdrift Game Lodge

5. DAY 5: Oudtshoorn to Montagu

   This day we start with a game drive after a wholesome breakfast and on return spend some time with the baby elephants. A special treat. We then depart for Montagu traveling through Calitzdorp, where we can stop to purchase some wine, Ladysmith and Barrydale on the R62. We stop at Barrydale for lunch and continue to Montagu for our last sleepover at Malherbe Guest House or similar.

   OVERNIGHT: Malherbe Guest House or similar

6. DAY 6: Montagu to Cape Town

   Today, after breakfast, we travel the last leg of our journey through Robertson, Worcester and through the Paarl Valley into Cape Town where you shall be taken to your hotel. (Accommodation for this night not included).
