About Cathedral Peak Golf Club
A mere 250km inland from Durban or 450km from Johannesburg, lying in amongst some of the most dramatic scenery all Southern Africa has to offer - the surroundings of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg mountain range - is the Cathedral Peak Golf Course. This stunning nine-hole course is widely recognized as a South African must play to those lucky enough to make it out here.
Perhaps the Complete Golfer said it best: "Few courses in the World have a more spectacular setting and although it clearly has no pretensions to being a championship test, it must be added to the list of veritable gems among our country courses".
Designed and built by Roly Taylor in 1994 the course was officially opened on the 13th of January 1996 and the club hasn't looked back since. Offering reverse tee options the course can be played as an eighteen-hole and when selected, becomes a 5412m par 70.
Visitors will be please to know that play here is open to the public. However, it is highly recommended that you book your accommodation in Drakensberg and your tee-off times ahead to avoid disappointment. Facilities include a hallway house, club shop, board room, restaurant and hands down the best 19th hole in Africa.
