About Clovelly Golf Club
The Clovelly Country Club's golf course lies close to neighbouring Fish Hoek in the majestic Silvermine Valley flowing down from the Table Mountain Range. The pristine location and immaculate tendered to grasses have resulted in Clovelly, like an elegant wine, getting better with age.
It was designed by well-known course architect Dr Charles Molteno and landscaped by Bobby Lewin. Together they crafted what is without doubt one of the most scenic and challenging courses in South Africa and certainly in the Cape Peninsula.
Clovelly was designed to be secluded from the everyday noises of passing cars and local railway tracks to truly entrench your senses into your game. With breath-taking views of the False Bay Coastline and the surrounding mountains and valleys it is little wonder that Clovelly is internationally appreciated with frequent visits from as far afield as Thailand and Ireland. Keeping up the challenge of over 60 000 rounds being played here per annum is a challenge as much as a joy. The greens of bent / poa annua are world class and are kept in superb condition.
In amongst the greens, fairways, bunkers and water hazards are biomes brimming with life especially of the feathered variety - guinea fowl, pheasant, peacock and more. The course follows neither the links nor American tradition in design but is unique and challenging by South African standards. The course will test you so be sure to bring your full set of shots.
Clovelly is of moderate length, 5869 metres in total. A Par 72 for men and 73 for ladies. Visitors are welcomed and warned to book your accommodation in Fish Hoek and your tee-off times well ahead to avoid disappointment.
Club facilities incluude a pro shop; clubhouse; practice arena; lawn bowling and tennis courts.
