About Glendower Golf Club
Set in the lush residential area of Edenvale in Johannesburg, Glendower Gold Club takes pride in being one of the top golfing courses in Gauteng, if not the country. Glendower recently hosted Paul McGinley (Ryder Cup Captain) in the SA Open Championship in 2013 and he had this to say of the club...
“It's one of the best I've ever played, very visual, really well bunkered and extremely well set up. We don't get to play on many traditional courses anymore and I was delighted. I could see this as a real potential venue for a U.S. Open if it was in America.”
Praise doesn't come higher than that.
Established in 1939, the club has gone on to host many spectacular and historical golfing events. The way in which the club has been managed is worthy of praise. The attention to detail is impeccable, and this is evident in the presentation of the fairways, greens and club facilities. Glendower is beautiful, challenging course. It is without doubt that, given the chance, every passionate golfer should play at least one round here. Visitors will be please to know that play here is open to the public. However, it is highly recommended that you book your Johannesburg hotel or accommodation and your tee-off times ahead to avoid disappointment.
The Par 72 boasts over sixty bunkers, water hazards on 11 out of 18 holes, exceptional practise facilities and a very trendy clubhouse.
