Klerksdorp is a growing town in the North West Province of South Africa that is the proud home of the Klerksdorp Golf Course. This course is the oldest in the area once known as the Transvaal, having been established in the latter part of the 19th century. It is also one of the five-oldest courses in the country.

Establishing the course was no easy task, thanks to frequent droughts, floods and long-term water shortages. It started as a nine-hole course made from a mixture of sand and used car oil, and is now a beautiful 18-hole course with rolling greens and fairways. The modern design only adds to its aesthetic appeal, and the course layout is such that it is suitable for beginners and pros alike.
