This parkland course based on the banks of the Vaal River, a convenient 45min drive out of the heart of Johannesburg's bustling masses, is one that is steeped in history and though established in 1926 still holds its own in the top 50 South African golf courses.

An excellent accomplishment for a club that has made only slight changes to the original course. The original architect was, George Peck upon whose work Major S.V Hotchkin put finishing touches and many years later it was another master of golf architecture that saw over the courses slight retouches and restoration – Peter Matkovich.

Known as the “Queen of inland links” Maccauvlei is an 18 hole championship, parkland layout course topped with Bent grass. Three tee's are offered and as such the course caters to a wide variety of golfer.

So come and experience the old English charm of Maccauvlei, where Charl Schwartzel started out his illustrious career, on your next golfing excursion.
