About MECC Course Two
Mount Edgecombe Country Club is an estate that comprises of two world class championship golf courses - Mount Edgecombe One and Mount Edgecombe Two. Situated near the coast of Umhlanga the club enjoys a wealth of sought after estate and natural beauty, including sightings of the Fish Eagles that frequent the nearby Pani Dam, which the second course's clubhouse overlooks.
The second course, MECC 2, was opened in 1997 after three years of careful and insightful planning by designers Daysen, De Villiers and Van der Merwe. The par 72 offers three tee options and features undulating hills, indigenous bush, a stream, wetlands and the Pani Dam.
The signature holes eight and nine wrap up the front nine alongside the Pani Dam. Water and an unforgiving rough guard the left and the right so accuracy is top priority.
Visitors are welcome here and the club has even adopted an online booking system for the tech savvy golfer. Facilities offered are first rate and fully inclusive.
Visitors will be please to know that play here is open to the public. However, it is highly recommended that you book your hotel or accommodation in Durban and your tee-off times ahead to avoid disappointment.
