Situated on the southern banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam, less than an hour from Pretoria in South Africa's North West Province, the Pecanwood Golf & Country Club is spoilt for scenery and enjoys lavish views of the Magaliesberg Mountains which dramatically rise up across the waters.

Undoubtedly one of the finest golfing estates in South Africa, Pecanwood incorporates wide fairways, large greens, plenty of water features and an army of bunkers into its armoury. Pecanwood was designed by none other than the “Golden Bear” Jack Nicklaus himself and inherits his pedigree and flair for the game that few courses around the world can boast. Nicklaus has put together a course that pulls the best features from top courses around the world while designing it around the nature lay of the land.

The course itself is a 7000m behemoth and offers three tee options to cater for all levels of golfer. The fairways are superbly knitted with Kikuyu and the greens are kept fast thanks to their generous coating of Crenshaw Bent. Don't let the distance deceive you however, Pecanwood is more about brains than brawn and challenges your mental ability, forcing you to think your way around the course.

The Signature Hole is the par-three 13th hole which measures 187 metres from the championship tee, and plays over a corner of the dam to a peninsula green.
