About Umkomaas Golf Club

Situated between Scottburgh and Amanzimtoti the Umkomaas Golf Club has a history dating back to 1913 when it was first constructed as nine-hole course. This makes Umkomaas the third eldest course in KwaZulu-Natal and it also happens to be the first course on the “Golf Coast.”

Umkomaas is the perfect place to start your South-coast golfing journey. The course was extended in 1926 to the full eighteen-holes and was redesigned in 1936 to what remains as today's basic structure - the handy work of renowned course designer, Robert Grimsdell.

The exceptional beauty of this part of the country is not lost on Umkomaas – the fairways are eternal green, generous in width and are undulating. Greens are guarded by bunkers and the course itself provides an all-round thorough golfing test. Book your accommodation in Umkomaas and your tee-off ahead to avoid disappointment.
