About Wild Coast Sun Golf Course
Located on South Africa's “Wild Coast” just north of midway between East London and Durban is the Wild Coast Golf Course. Somehow, American golf architect, Robert Trent Jones Jnr, has managed to create a golfing masterpiece that looks brilliant from every single angle. The fairways are uncommonly wide, the greens - behemoth.
Every single inch of this Top Ten rated course is devastatingly exquisite and if you don't believe me then you can use your cart to explore it all yourself. The course is 18 holes, a smidgen under 6000 meters in length, a par 70 and carts are compulsory. Built on the edge of the Indian Ocean and along the banks of a river, each hole has its own story to tell and when you find yourself on the 13th teeing off over a waterfall you'll know all about it.
The Wild Coast Golf Course has hosted the Sunshine Tour among others and players such as Seve Ballesteros, Ian Palmer, Fred Couples, Ian Woosman and Mark McNulty, just to name few, have had the privilege of the very best of what South Africa has to offer. Book your accommodation in Port St Johns and your tee-off ahead to avoid disappointment.
The standard golfing dress code applies soft spikes only, golf cart hire is compulsory and club hire is available. There is also the Golf Academy that offers professional coaching from a PGA Professional and the Wild Coast Country Club that offer light snacks and refreshments.
