Belly Deli is a quirky little retreat in the heart of the Karoo Heartland. Willowmore, the deli's home town, is a small hub, but has earned its spot on the map for its mohair production. This is in the heart of the spectacular Baviaans region, which is a natural treasure for which this part of South Africa is renowned. Hiking, mountain biking, mountain climbing and bird watching are all popular activities in and around this area. This is mainly due to its natural abundance and the one-of-a-kind beauty all around.

Belly Deli has a distinctive style that can only be defined as “Karoo Chic”, which is simultaneously warm, inviting, comfortable and undeniably, deliciously quirky. There are splashes of African rustic, fused with modern touches. Belly Deli is ideal for travellers passing through as well as families with little ones, but is also a favourite amongst locals wanting good food and a friendly ambience. There are seating areas inside and out, as well as a well-equipped play area for children.

The shelves of the deli are bedecked with preserves, oils, dressings, sauces and a range of other delights, as well as freshly baked goods and home-made pies. Delicious lunches, wood-fired pizzas and fresh cakes make for the perfect snack while in the Baviaans, or on route between the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape. Even if you simply want to indulge in a really great cup of coffee, Belly Deli can promise quality, with a liberal dose of friendly service.

This unique little stop-over is one of those memorable places that define the Karoo experience for many, and will almost certainly retain a special place in the minds and hearts of all of its visitors.
