About Cape Morgan Nature Reserve
The Wild Coast is, undeniably, one of South Africa's most beautiful areas. Its appeal lies in its rugged, untouched natural allure, and the sheer abundance of fauna and flora to be found here. The Cape Morgan Nature Reserve is a coastal forest reserve, an area loved for its lush fertility and dense greenery.
One of the features of this reserve is the old Titanium Mine ruins, in which a new Eco Centre has been constructed to accommodate large groups of school children, who visit the reserve to delve into the fascinating truths of the Wild Coast's natural history. Being a coastal forest area, this reserve is a rich biosphere, home to an astounding variety of plants and animals.
The Cape Morgan Lighthouse is nestled within the coastal forest, towering over the trees. There are only three lighthouses along the craggy coastline of the Wild Coast, including this one. The light has a range of 24 sea miles. The walk to the lighthouse is a beautiful one, making it even more special to be up close and personal to this noteworthy structure.
