On the doorstep of much of the accommodation in Port Elizabeth is a world of adventure. And, when it comes to celebrating all things local, there are few attractions more iconically South African than a farm stall. Here, fresh produce and local flavours are honoured and visitors are assured of something completely unique at every stop because the goods are so often handmade and homemade.

The Oudebosch Farmstall is in Humansdorp, which is roughly halfway between Port Elizabeth and the accommodation in Knysna (one of the Garden Route's most loved towns). So, it is the perfect place to take a break from your drive and discover loads of little gems. It was established more than a decade ago and has since grown into an impressive enterprise, where homemade preserves, traditional roosterbrood (fire-baked bread), and convenience goods like snacks and sodas are on offer.

The gift shop is brimming with jewellery, local wines, curios, spectacular proteas, and embroidered products from the Eersterivier Embroidery Project. These are all stunning as personal keepsakes, and even better when shared with friends and family back home as mementoes of your time in the Eastern Cape.

The restaurant, coffee shop and beer garden on site are inviting. Have a moreish treat with a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee or an ice-cold beer. There's place for the little ones to burn energy in the pretty garden before hitting the road again.
