About Thomas River Historical Village
Nestled between Stutterheim and Cathcart is the Thomas River Historical Village. The village is named after a British deserter, Thomas Bently who was killed by a poisonous bushman arrow.
The old town train station sits between old forts and dates back to the late 1870's. The station was remodeled in 1926 and was last used in 1948. The village is brimming with history and was restored to its former glory in 2003.
Step back in time and explore the old Thomas River Historical Village. Make sure you visit the Wagon museum, Cultural museum, Private Library, Pub museum and of course the vintage motor museum. A stunning stone church which was built in 1888 is a must see and the Ramble Restaurant offers great meals.
