About Afronova
Afronova is a Pan African gallery for modern and contemporary art created by Henri Vergon. The elegant gallery space is located in the heart of Johannesburg, Braamfontein, and contributes to the cosmopolitan landscape of the city.
Afronova presents exhibitions of modern and contemporary art from the African continent and represent artists. The gallery has a specialized bookshop with a catalogue of local and international publications on the art of the continent.
Besides the program of exhibitions, Afronova hosts performances and screenings on the historic square and happenings with a unique Pan African flavor. Afronova also develops a network of international residencies and facilitate the participation of artists in the major African cultural events like the Bamako Biennale of African Photography or the Dakar Biennale of contemporary art.
