About Just Brewing

This family-owned and run brewery is in Boksburg, Johannesburg, and is responsible for creating some very special craft beers that are a real hit in the South African market. The head brewer is one of the youngest in the country and uses his favourite malts and a hops from New Zealand to craft moreish varieties.

Just Brewing Company has about five different brews at any one time. None of these is filtered and no chemical additives are added to any of the craft beers produced here.

Some of their favourites are...

Chocolate Coffee Stout (ABV 4%)
Black, malty, complex and delicious, this has fantastic coffee and dark chocolate flavours. The head is creamy and dense with distinct espresso flavour. It is ideal with rich desserts, but is just as moreish when it is enjoyed on its own.

Pale Ale (ABV 4.5%)
This golden-coloured ale is fabulously easy to sip on a summery afternoon. Made with three different hops, the flavour is enhanced by hints of tropical fruits, which makes it ideal for spicy and savoury foods.

Red Steam
The semi-rich malty body of this beer is finished by a crisp dryness. Look out for the toast, caramel, bread and grainy flavours. The firm hoppy bitterness is not over the top, thanks to the slight fruity influences.

Brewery tours are conducted on one Saturday a month for visitors to see the equipment and the process from start to finish. Of course, no tour would be complete without tasting the beers and getting insights from the pros, so those booking a tour are sure to have a great time.

Boksburg is situated in Johannesburg’s East Rand. It is about three-quarters of an hour from Sandton and about 20 minutes from the OR Tambo International Airport.
