It was established by the same childhood friends (Martin Jakoby and Thomas Hughes) that started The Loft in Melville, The Attic in Parkhurst, and The Office in Greenside. These two gents have a penchant for the very best in craft beers, irresistible food and good service.

The Steamworks is a casual hangout with a varied menu. Some of the favourite menu items include pork and black bean spring rolls with Korean slaw and a soy dressing, mussels in cider and crème fraiche, a salmon fishcake with a soft poached egg, free-range rump steak with a Béarnaise sauce, poached kabeljou in a spiced coconut milk, and a lightly crumbed porcini ravioli with baby spinach and salsa verde. There are also a host of vegetarian options, salads, pizzas and a gourmet burger. On weekends, there is a small kiddies' menu available too.
