About Benvie Farm
Benvie Farm is an ideal spot for birding and garden enthusiasts. This hundred and twenty year old garden was established by cabinet maker and tree lover, John Geekie in 1882. Here you will find azaleas, rhododendrons and conifers surrounded by a mist belt forest. While walking the garden path you will notice signs describing what you are likely to see.
Bring your camera or binoculars with you to take pictures of these stunning gardens and the amazing birdlife. Cape Parrots, Grey Cuckooshrikes, Orange Ground Thrushes, Knysna Turacos, White Starred Robins and Olive Woodpeckers frequent the area and use this beautiful garden as a nesting area.
If you follow the stream into the forest you are likely to spot even more bird species including the African Emerald, Red Chested Cuckoo, Klaas's Cuckoo , Forest Buzzard, Narina Trogan and more.
Guided walks are available if you prefer, toilet facilities are at hand and restaurants are nearby for a quick bit to eat. Make sure you visit the Intingo Furniture shop while here, where stunning items are made on site.
