About Margate Art Museum

The Margate Art Museum is a large part of the community and is an important source of outreach and education.

Since opening in 1994 the diversity in exhibitions from both local and non-local artists has expanded rapidly.

Majority of the works on display were produced in KwaZulu Natal, reflecting the variety in culture and artistic range of the region. There is a school corner which consists of works created by learners at local schools.

An outreach and education programme is also run here offering workshops, talks, guided tours and much more for groups visiting the Art Museum.
