Dubbed by many as being one of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa, Munster Beach certainly doesn't disappoint. It is situated conveniently close to the town of Glenmore on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, and is a fabulous spot for summer holidays, family outings, and romantic walks on the beach.

Thanks to shark nets, the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, and a consistent wave, Munster Beach is also a hit amongst local surfers and visitors that want to catch a few waves. Body-boarders, stand-up paddlers, and those trying their hand at the fairly new fad of hydrofoiling will also enjoy the Munster conditions. It remains one of the most popular swimming beaches in the area for its great conditions and temperate waters.

The warm sand is ideal for a snooze on a towel, bronzing in the sun, or playing any number of beach games. Little ones love building impressive sandcastles, or splashing around in the shallows. There are massive boulders and rocky outcrops at Munster Beach. This means that it is also fun to explore under the water. Bring along a snorkel and goggles and discover a new world of beautifully colourful animal- and plant life. With such an abundance of marine life, it is no wonder that this is also a fabulous choice for fishermen that want to catch reef fish, including rock cod and shad.

Munster Beach enjoys a backdrop of gorgeous coastal vegetation, which is home to birds and bugs, adding to the biodiversity.

Munster is a quaint village near Port Edward that is known for its laid-back approach to life. It is less than two hours' drive from the metropolis of Durban and the King Shaka International Airport.
