Set on six hectares of scenic bushveld within the Tala Game Reserve, the African Raptor Centre offers a safe haven for a diverse array of indigenous raptors from southern Africa. Conveniently located with easy access from both Durban and Pietermaritzburg, this tranquil bird park invites you to experience South Africa's majestic aerial predators up close.

Visitors can witness these extraordinary birds in action during the 10:30 Flying Show, held from Tuesday to Sunday, and observe the lively Vulture Feeding Sessions at 12:30 on weekends and public holidays.

The African Raptor Centre is a dedicated conservation facility, engaged in ongoing research, breeding, and rehabilitation projects for indigenous birds of prey. While much of this important work takes place behind the scenes to preserve the wild instincts of the birds and maximize successful releases, the Centre is also home to several captive-bred or non-releasable birds. Guests are welcome to explore the species-specific enclosures and learn about these impressive predators.
