This game reserve offers an excellent MTB experience on its 350 hectare reserve, the rugged, rocky landscape peppered with mountains and steep koppies that add some extreme uphills to the mix.

The trail route is a 15 km loop trail, but offers several variations and stages for different levels of riders. For long distance riders the additional stretch of tar road just outside the main lodge gate is an added appeal. Incredibly steep routes up to view points give hardcore mountain bikers a good work out.

In summary: the trail is adaptable for anyone's abilities – from easy family rides over river crossings and the chance to spot game to extreme. Much of the trail is in shade. A wooden hut is there for 'extreme' overnight stays (expect little more than bunk beds and basic facilities). Conversely book a camp site or a chalet on the reserve.

The route map, which you can pick up at the lodge, is divided into an easy family route (marked in green and yellow) of about 9 km. There are additional tracks off this basic route to viewpoints like Leopard Outlook, Tony's Rock and Dominee's Hill for those after a challenge (marked in red), a moderate yellow route and extreme sections marked in red.

The same trails serves hikers; share the road.

There is a pub and grill open to the public.
