On the magnificent Long Tom mountain pass of Mpumalanga, the Hops Hollow Brewery offers avid beer enthusiasts the opportunity to sample some excellent brews while relishing unbeatable views. This micro-brewery is near Lydenberg and produced its first true craft beer in 2001. Since then, it has been developing and crafting outstanding beers for the public to enjoy.

The success behind each unique beer is the combination of science, technology, artistic flair and lashings of experience and passion that goes into each batch. They are handcrafted and no two batches are ever quite the same. These beers are perfect for connoisseurs and casual beer drinkers alike, so a tasting is ideal for all visitors to this part of Mpumalanga.

The malt beers are not brewed with any kind of unnatural additives or preservatives and they are not pasteurised. The water used comes from the surrounding mountain springs to ensure only the purest, cleanest ingredients go into each of these beers. Hops Hollow offers the following brews:

Diggers Draught
The light colour and body of this beer make it easy to drink, as does the fact that it has reached the optimal balance between bitterness, fruitiness, and refreshment. The local hops have a distinct floral undertone, which characterises this beer.

Blacksmith's Brew
This traditional Belgian white ale is light and tart, with aromatic coriander and ginger to add a kick. It is a lively thirst quencher with plenty of fresh, crisp appeal.

Mac's Porter
Malty with strong coffee and cream undertones makes this a robust option with plenty of character. The light hop finish may come as a surprise after the complex richness of the sip that preceded it, which just adds a magical element to this dark delight.

Old Bull Bitter
Clean malty flavours are balanced by a lingering spicy hop and fruity overtones in this traditional English pub-style beer. The relatively low alcohol content makes it easier to sip on.

Tapper's Brew
A lager with a Saaz hop aroma and bitterness and a light body, this is a favourite after a long day. It is unbeatably refreshing.
