The Mac Mac Summit 4x4 Trail is nestled in its heart, amidst the massive mountains of the Mauchberg, and showcases some of the prettiest vistas of South Africa to perfection.

Situated only 14 kilometres from the little town of Sabie, and nearby to Hazyview and Graskop too, the Mac Mac Summit Trail is accessible via scenic mountain passes. It is a guided route that takes between one and five days to complete, depending on how slowly you choose to drive the 80 kilometres of its extent. The terrain is easy enough to drive, even for beginners, thanks to well-maintained tracks. Some of the trail even comprises tarred areas.

Thanks to the pleasant climate of Mpumalanga, the Mac Mac Summit 4x4 Trail is open all year round. In addition to self-catering accommodation, there are also other amenities for those embarking on this adventure. These include a swimming pool and restaurant, both of which provide welcome refreshment and respite after hours on the road.

This trail is made up of a number of interlinked roads, as opposed to one solid trail. It is in the 770 square kilometres of the Komatiland Forest Conservancy, which means mile after endless mile of unadulterated natural beauty and abundance, including mountains, waterfalls and valleys. In fact, it is no surprise that this has become acclaimed by regular visitors as one of the most scenic 4x4 trails in his country.

Celebrate the landscapes by exploring them from your 4x4 vehicle, or on the hiking, cycling or quad biking routes available. The nearby towns of Sabie, Graskop and Hazyview are also brimming with things to do and see, and the world-renowned Kruger National Park is a short drive away.
