Cheese is delicious. Everyone agrees. It is rich, decadent, creamy and flavoursome. It makes everything taste better. In celebration of this, the Grootplaas Cheese Academy offers you the opportunity to learn how to make your own moreish cheeses and yoghurts during a course that is hands on, practical, and takes only three days to complete.

The course will include the making of soft cheese, semi-soft cheese, hard cheese, and fermented milk products. It is appropriate for anyone - from a cheese-lover that wants to try their hand at making some personal favourites at home to dairy farmers that want to expand their expertise on a much broader scale. These skills are complemented by topics on safety, nutrition and marketing. All of the equipment and gear is provided by Grootplaas Cheese Academy, and no prior experience is needed.

This course is held by experienced cheese and dairy connoisseurs, Barbie and Hans. They have combined their passion and knowledge to create a comprehensive course that makes for a really special cheese-making experience.

Everyone that successfully completes the course will get a certificate of attendance. This 3 day cheese making course takes place at their farm in Broederstroom. 15 people are required for this course, although smaller groups can do a one day workshop.

The Grootplaas Cheese Academy is situated in Hartbeespoort, just north of Johannesburg. This hub offers plenty to do in the way of water sports, thanks to its being home to the Hartbeespoort Dam and the Crocodile River.
