The Aphrodisiac Shack is about love – loving your food, environment, body and fellow human beings in a way that brings positivity and mutual respect amongst people, as well as between us and the plants and animals that sustain us. It is about making the world a better place, starting at the table.

The Aphrodisiac Shack is idyllically situated along the banks of the Theewaterskloof Dam, between Grabouw and Villiersdorp in the Western Cape of South Africa. It is within these near-perfect surrounds that the world-class charcuterie produces hot-smoked and cold-smoked meats that are sure to impress even the most seasoned of connoisseurs. All of the meats or meat products are free of hormones, preservatives, additives and chemicals. As a certified Fairtrade restaurant, Aphrodisiac Shack goes one step further in ensuring that its products are environmentally responsible and healthy.

However, cured meats are not the only things for which this eatery is known. Smoked and unsmoked cheeses, smoked butter, oak-smoked nuts, olive oils, olives, pickled and smoked vegetables, free-range chicken and duck breasts, and smoked eggs (of both chickens and ducks) are all set to whet your appetite and delight your senses.

The fruits and vegetables in stock are seasonal and will, therefore, change from time to time to incorporate what is growing and thriving. No artificial flavourants or colourants are used.

Picnic baskets can be arranged for those wanting to taste the delicious produce while enjoying the peace and quiet of the South African countryside. These include freshly-baked bread, organic salad and other tasty treats. This is perfect for a couple wanting to enjoy the romance of the outdoors, or for larger groups of friends or families.
