About Black Eagle Brewery

Founded in 2014 by Hugo and Elmien, a passionate home-brewing couple from Langebaan, Black Eagle Brewing Co. began as a hobby. After six months of experimenting and perfecting their craft, they decided to take the plunge into the professional brewing world. Inspired by the majestic African Black Eagles that nest near their home, they poured their love for quality beer, music, people, and the finer things in life into every batch.

In 2023, on National Beer Day, Garth Hansen, a long-time patron and enthusiast of the brand, took the reins of the brewery. His deep connection with BEBC's values and mission, combined with a dedicated team of beer lovers, continues to drive the brewery’s success.

Housed in a charming Heritage fish house dating back to the early 1900s, the brewery is located in the heart of Langebaan village. Since opening its doors in December 2015, the brewery and tasting room have become a West Coast favourite. With an increasing demand, plans are underway to boost production while ensuring the brewery's unique experience remains at the forefront.
