The smallest wine farm on the Klein Karoo wine route, Du'SwaRoo farm is just north of Calitzdorp on the road to Gronfontein. It lies on the secondary slopes of a round topped koppie known as Besemkop (broom head) just south of the Swartberg Mountains.

The unusual name of the farm, rather than meaning something exotic, comes from the old and new home of the owners of the farm – Durban, South West Africa and Klein Karoo.

The important thing to remember about Du'SwaRoo wines is that you are highly unlikely to find them on the shelves of your local bottle store. They're a boutique farm style wine producing limited quantities from their Shiraz and Port vineyards and grapes from neighbouring farms.

Their wines include a Cape Vintage port, a Shiraz, a Sirocco and a Shiloh (winemakers blend).

Making wine began as a hobby for Tony Bailey, who is the farm owner, the wine maker, and the viticulturist, but then 'the bug bit'.

A visit to Du'SwaRoo is by appointment only (although they welcome visitors).

Du'SwaRoo supports the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative and is also a member of IPW (Integrated Production of Wine) whereby a wine producer adheres to international wine industry environmental sustainability criteria. Their wine is produced in as environmentally-friendly way as possible.

Other produce includes olives, apricots and vegetables. The farm sells products such as olive oil, table olives, dried olives, atchars, preserves, and pickles.
