About Du Toitskloof Winery
At the entrance of the beautiful Mountain Pass not far from the town of Rawsonville, you'll find Du Toitskloof Wine Cellar. Du Toitskloof wines are a well established brand within the Breede River Valley and has gained attention throughout South Africa and worldwide in countries such as Brazil, the rest of Africa and Russia. Wine Magazine has voted Du Toitskloof Winery as the Best Value Cellar, five times including in 2012.
The estate was first established by six wine farmers in 1962 and grew in a big way until it today where this multi-million rand Company, Du Toitskloof Wines has 22 members. Many of the members are second-generation descendants of the founding members and all live within 10 km of the estate. They first produced wines for wholesalers and then become focused on the bottled wine market and displayed great innovation in the cellar and in the vineyards by planting noble cultivars perfectly suited to the land's climate. Not only do they produce a large range of red and white wines but host a Fairtrade empowerment project which is the biggest of its kind. A reserve range was launched 5-years ago, with the new naturally sparkling Cape Beach Club and price-conscious Old Tunnel being new additions to their range.
To view more wine estates in the region see Breedekloof Wine Estates or see South Africa Wine Estates for a general overview and links to other wine producing regions.
