The little settlement of Klawer is less than three hours' drive from the Mother City of Cape Town, in the Western Cape of South Africa. This may be a small place with only a few locals, but it is the proud home of Margo's, the inviting restaurant at the Klawer Hotel.

Margo's was added to the hotel when the hotel was taken over by new management in 2003. The owner, Moorrees Smit, named the restaurant after his daughter, and is determined to provide generous portions of moreish meals with a friendly smile. The a-la-carte menu has a wide range of tasty options to appeal to the broadest spectrum of visitors and hungry diners. Steaks, schnitzels, spare ribs, chicken wings, burgers and seafood platters are just some of the delicious options available. There is also a wood fire pizza oven, and Margo's is known for its tasty pizzas.

Moorrees' passion for good food started in the 1970's, when he began his journey along the road of the hospitality industry. He is the executive chef of Margo's and underscores his passion with his experience.

Klawer is less than 300 kilometres from Cape Town and the Cape Winelands. In addition, there are some wineries right in Klawer, where wine tastings can be enjoyed and visitors can purchase some reds and whites to take back home and enjoy at leisure.
