About Mountain Oaks Winery
Situated on the old Cape Dutch farm of Eikenbosch, Mountain Oaks Organic Winery is gem worth discovering. Pieter Du Toit kept his cattle near the area which is now named the Du Toit’s Kloof pass. A settlement was formed and in the late 1700’s the farm was established.
The origins have the winery can be found when glancing at the majestic old oaks found all around the farm. You’ll still find the Cape Dutch House there and over the years, he has added a wine cellar, storage rooms and stables. The owner and master behind the winemaking is Christine Stevens whose record boasts years of organic wine production and four star ratings in the John Platter Guide for most wines. The wines not exported to Europeare sold within SA’s top restaurants and hotels. 16 hectares of the farm is under vine which in turn produces 20 000 to 30 000 bottles with each harvest.
Taste any one of the wines in their range including Mountain Oaks Pinotage 08, Mountain Oaks Chardonnay 08, Mountain Oaks Eikenbosch Red Blend 06, Mountain Oaks Rose 2011 and Mountain oaks Vintage Eikenbosch White 05. True to their organic label, all wines are bottled aged and only sold when they are ready for your glass.
