About Paternoster Art Route

For decades, the appeal of Paternoster has, largely, been its picturesque setting and the laid-back vibe of the fishing village. And, of course, this is still a massive part of its magic. But, it is also evolving, and is now home to many creatives that produce gorgeous work, often inspired by these breath-taking surrounds. In July 2018, the Paternoster Art Route was launched and promises to be a growing, dynamic platform on which creatives can showcase their work and visitors can see and buy some fantastic pieces.

The Paternoster Art Route includes a number of galleries, studios and shops. The entire route is only 2.5 kilometres long and makes for a lovely stroll through this West Coast fishing village.

The galleries along the route include

1. At Botha Art Gallery – oil paintings
2. Fleur Delyse – art in glass
3. Magda Art – oil paintings
4. pb Ceramics – functional ceramic ware that is handcrafted and affordable
5. Stone Fish Studio and Gallery – fine art. This studio also offers classes and workshops for visitors. It is owned and run by Di Heesom-Green, who is the convenor of the Paternoster Art route.
6. Uro Erichsen - contemporary painting, original clay work, Paternoster prayer beads
7. Wayne and Sandy Attrill – paintings, ceramics, and sculptures created from recycled goods
8. Wilko Roon – acrylic paintings

Whether you are looking to increase your art collection at home, or you're simply after a day of culture and all things beautifully unique, the Paternoster Art Route is a fantastic option.

Paternoster is one of the charming villages of the Cape West Coast and is less than two hours outside of Cape Town. It has gorgeous beaches and is particularly popular for kite surfing and windsurfing. The West Coast National Park, just 40 minutes from the village, is a must, thanks to its incredible variety of fauna and flora.
