Large sweeping concrete drapes adorn the façade of the Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town which is in fact a theatre in the bay with a stage draped in local talent. Placed between Table Mountain and Camps Bay, this ocean facing theatre showcases indigenous performers in South African productions of international performance quality.

Local stage legend, Pieter Toerien established this intimate stage as a home to world class entertainment for drama, comedy, dance, musicals and cabarets. This 238 seater venue serves as a platform for magic captivating an audience of all ages with some of Disney's musicals including Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King.

Colloquial humour, one man shows and large cast comedies for adult audiences keep Capetonian culture laughing and shows often return by popular demand for an additional season of encores. Audience feet tap enthusiastically to singing notes of magnificent musical maestros that carry a tune to the palm tree fringed shores.

Take a pre-show sunset walk along Camps Bay Beach enjoying the breathtaking scenery as an opening act. Have a pre-show drink at theatre's Coffee Lounge or Dietrich's Bar where actors toast a nightcap with the audience post performance.

On site restaurant, Act 1 Theatre Café serves dinner from a small seasonal menu before and after the show as do numerous neighbouring venues.
