The Trafalgar Swimming Pool is one of the biggest public pools in Cape Town and it is conveniently situated in the heart of Woodstock. This suburb is known for its eclectic mix of people, places, colours, and cultures. It is within these quirky surrounds that this massive pool can be found; a perfect escape from the heat of the city to the cool, refreshing waters.

The Trafalgar Swimming Pool can accommodate some 950 people (150 of which can be in the pool at any one time). There is a large grassed area that is inviting for families and friends that want to relax on the lawns, enjoy a picnic, rest in the shade provided by gorgeous trees, or catch a suntan. The children's play area is popular for little ones with plenty of energy to burn. The ablution facilities are nearby, complete with showers. There is also a first aid room. Having all of these facilities in one place is convenient, and provides a measure of safety.

The main pool is 48 metres long and 14 metres wide, reaching a depth of 1.5 metres. It is ideal for playing and frolicking, but also for training and swimming lengths. The children's pool is 22 metres long and 14 metres wide, but only half a metre deep to ensure that they can stand comfortably, while still staying cool and having fun.

There are only 24 parking bays available at the Trafalgar Swimming Pool itself, so those requiring close parking should be sure to arrive early. The swimming pool is open from October until April, 10h00 to 17h00.
