About Wilderers Distillery
Wilderer's Distillery can be found in the heart of Paarl
Wilderers is home to one of the most innovative and high-tech distilleries in the world and allows for triple distillation in one step and a 700 litre capacity. The distilling process begins with fermented grape skins or fruit being heated in a copper kettle. Thereafter pure alcohol begins to evaporate slowly and only a few litres are good enough to become Wilderer's Eau de vie. In 2000, the distillery moved from Stellenbosch to Paarl and Schnaps lovers can't miss out on a stop for tasting and the restaurant.
Enjoy the restaurant's offerings with a view of Groot Drakenstein Mountains and if you're there in summer, you'll be treated to live music. One of the menu's highlights includes an Alsace speciality, fl ammenküche, a French-style pizza with a creamy base of onion and bacon. Add toppings or enjoy as is. Don't forget to include a sample of the excellent Grappa.
