The Twee Jonge Gezellen Estate has been in the family since 1710 and happens to be one of those family legacies which gets passed on through time. Cellar Master, Nicky Krone produced his first bottle of fermented sparkling wine in 1987 and continues to be passionate about champagne. In 1995, he enquired from the French Champagne House, Mumm, if he could produce MCC under the label in South Africa.

In 2004, his son, Matthew Krone took over the wine cellar responsibilities from his father and together with his mother, Mary Krone; they do an incredible job in building this prestigious brand. Even the youngest Luke plays a role in this venture and is in charge of operations and PR and these brothers happen to be the 12 generation to run this business. In their drive for social responsibility and uplifting the community, the farm works and families have been a part of this estate for generations too.

Visit the estate and be a part of the tour which will give you some insight into the rich family history, old world charm and of course allow you to sample their delicious offerings. When visiting Tulbagh, you cannot miss visiting this farm and be sure to taste the Krone in brut and rose as well as some of the vintage MCC of which only 100 bottles have been produced.
