Accommodation

Adonsonia Lodge has three rooms. All of the air conditioned rooms have an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a private entrance. Wi-Fi is available.

A large shady thatched porch offers a place to sit and relax and enjoy the stunning views over the koppie with regular wildlife sightings, while a splash pool provides a welcome place to cool off from the midday heat. There is also a guest living room with a small library and a collection of interesting objects found in and around the lodge, inviting you to discover more about the bush and it's inhabitants.

In the evening meals are served under the thatched lapa or on the patio under the stars, and when it gets cooler a large firepit provides a warm and comforting place to sit and listen to the sounds of the bush.

Dining

A filling breakfast is included in your stay. This can also be provided as a takeaway if you are heading out to Kruger or leaving early. For dinner we offer a set 3 course menu or braai at an additional cost. Where possible we use vegetables and herbs from our own garden, as well as products sourced from the local farmers market. We also cater for vegetarians. We do ask that if possible you request your meals in advance. Coffee, tea and water are complementary during your stay. A selection of beverages is available in our honesty bar.

Experience

With a variety of trees and shrubs we have many birds visiting our garden including African Green Pigeons, Woodlands Kingfishers and even on occasion Ground Hornbills. Our resident Bushbuck graze on the lawn or rest under the bushes and a troupe of mischievous Vervet monkeys sleep in the trees surrounding the lodge, providing amusement in the afternoons and a wake up call in the morning.

Elephant, giraffe and other game is regularly seen in the dry river bed at the end of the garden or in the grassy area behind the lodge, and we have chosen for minimal fencing so that you truly feel close up and personal with our animal visitors.

The lodge has it's own touring company. You can book morning and evening drives on Grietjie and half or full day drives in Kruger. It is also possible to book day tours to the Panorama Route with its wonderful scenery.
