AfriCamps at Hoedspruit in Limpopo is perfectly situated for your Lowveld safari, between Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon. The area is famous for its close vicinity to wildlife and game reserves, cultural heritage, beautiful landscapes and, to top it all off, South Africa's most beautiful weather.

Self Catering Accommodation

The boutique tents provide accommodation surrounding a beautiful dam popular among guests for fishing. AfriCamps at Hoedspruit has eleven boutique tents.

Each AfriCamps tent consists of an outdoor wood-fired hot tub or splash pool which overlooks the dam, a spacious open plan lounge area with a couch, a dining area with solid wooden table and seating for five guests, a fully-equipped kitchen with a four burner hob, two bedrooms which comfortably sleeps five guests and a bathroom complete with hot shower, flushing toilet and washbasin.

Both bedrooms are furnished with a Queen-size bed and have their own private entrance which allows maximum privacy. One of the bedrooms also contains a single bunk bed. A baby cot and high chair are available on request. Our tents are equipped with air-conditioning and an indoor fireplace.

Enjoy a braai in-front of the tent and take in the views from the comfortable deck loungers on the spacious wooden decks. Pull up the front covers and transform the tent into a large outdoor living area. Unwind and appreciate a festive family breakfast while taking in the serene natural beauty of the South African Lowveld.

The camp has a lovely pool area for the whole family to enjoy on sunny days.

Breakfast

Breakfast is optional and is served daily at the camp for an additional cost. Next to our breakfast baskets we also offer braai baskets. Both of them need to be ordered at least one day in advance.

Attractions

Hoedspruit is perfectly located for day drives through the Panorama Route. Points to check off your list are Graskop Gorge, Pinnacle Rock, God's Window, Wonder View, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, and Blyde River Canyon.

Remarkable waterfalls to include on your itinerary are Lone Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Sabie Falls, Forest Falls, Mac Mac Pools, Mac Mac Falls, Berlin Falls, and Lisbon Falls. Essential to the Hoedspruit experience is a self-drive or guided game drive to Kruger National Park or private game reserves in the area like Timbavati or Klaserie.

Additional Information

Hoedspruit is in a moderate-risk malaria area. Please consult your doctor to advise about the use of anti-malarial medication. If you plan to overnight in the Kruger Park, it is recommended that you take preventative measures.

Guests will be able to purchase essentials like wood, firelighters, and ice from the hosts between 08h00 and 17h00.

There is a bar at the pool area where guests can buy a selection of drinks. Please speak to the hosts on arrival regarding bar hours.

Travel Tip
For longer stays, it is advised to bring an extra cooler box to keep food and drinks cold, especially if guests bring their own food.
