Aloe Pod @ Glen Eden is a highly recommended property for self catering in Montagu for up to 6 guests visiting the Breede River Valley region.
Aloe Pod @ Glen Eden offers Montagu accommodation on Glen Eden Farm. The pod is situated in a field, away from the cottages, close to the river, with mountain views.
Aloe Pod @ Glen Eden provides glamping in Montagu. The pod comprises a hand-made, gypsy wagon which is furnished with a King-size bed (or 2 singles if preferred). The seating area converts to a single bed and a sofa to a child's single bed.
There is also a Tepee Tent furnished with two single beds. It has a private pod with a bathroom fitted with a shower, eco-toilet and basin, as well as a small kitchen equipped with a 2-plate gas stove, coffee- and tea-making facilities, a fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery.
Outside is a braai, hot tub and fire pit with tree stump seating to relax and enjoy the fire whilst chatting with and enjoying a drink or two with friends.
There are a number of walks around the farm, although think of the farm as your own during your stay and wander around. There is a dam with black bass and tilapia for fishing, the area has a picnic bench and fire pit should you wish to braai there.
We have a touch farm with alpacas, goats, rabbits, turkeys, chickens, geese and ducks, which you're welcome to walk around at any time. You may even get a visit from our gardening crew of sheep and donkeys who are roaming around.
If you want to get up close and personal to any of the animals, we can arrange for you to join us to feed them.
What is loadshedding? It refers to the temporary suspension of electricity provided by Eskom, South Africa's electricity provider, to reduce consumption and thereby the load on the national grid. To compensate, South African property owners are turning to solar power, inverters with backup batteries or in some cases generators to keep the power on, wherever feasible.

We absolutely loved every second of our stay. Even enquired about the cottages as we will be back with a larger group. The gypsy wagon was incredible, comfy, clean and so authentic. Out of all the hotels and places in many different countries we have visited to have this absolute piece of heaven on our doorstep is amazing. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend Glen Eden farm. Thank you Carol and staff.
