About Arum Place Guest House
Overlooking the Melville Koppies, Arum Place Guest House is a small private retreat, although only a minute's drive away from the Melville buzz. The large patios, with stunning views from the top of a hill, are ideal for relaxing in the evenings and a barbeque/ braai can be arranged for groups.
Accommodation
The spacious rooms with wooden floors and steel pressed ceilings are beautifully restored and individually decorated. The luxurious bedrooms all with full en-suite bathrooms are situated inside the main house and self catering units are available for longer stays. Please see the individual room descriptions and photos below, to assist with your selection.
Rooms are serviced daily with crisp white cotton percale linen and are equipped with a bar fridge with complimentary soft drinks and a mini-bar on request. Tea / coffee tray, complimentary toiletries. TV with selection of DSTV channels. Clock radio / alarm, dressing table /desk and hairdryer. Fan / heater / electric blanket in winter and free Wi-Fi Internet access.
The self-catering units have all the comforts as in the rooms. The kitchenettes are equipped with a washbasin, fridge, microwave oven, kettle, refrigerator, toaster, crockery and cutlery, ironing board and iron.

Antique and collectibles, pubs, boutiques, second hand bookshops, street cafés, coffee shops, restaurants and deli's on 7th street, 44 Stanley Street, another arty yuppie hangout.
Melville Koppies Nature Reserve, Botanical Gardens, Emmarentia Dam are well worth a visit.
Other places of interest are The Apartheid Museum, Gold Reef City, Montecasino, Soweto, Johannesburg Zoo, Constitutional Hill, Johannesburg Art Gallery, Nelson Mandela Bridge, Museum Africa, Lieberman's Potteries, Oriental Plaza and various art galleries.
