Babanango Valley Lodge is a KwaZulu Natal game lodge providing a wildlife experience for anyone visiting Zululand.
Welcome to Babanango Valley Lodge, a nature lover's escape, nestled in the heart of Zululand, where beautiful flora and fauna abound. The lodge overlooks the picturesque Nsubeni River Valley with glistening granite koppies, sandstone cliffs and quartzite ridges stretching into the far distance where the White Umfolozi River flows. Valley Lodge offers a truly unique bush experience, on a grassroots level, with a “home away from home” experience in a farmstyled environment.
With 6 Luxury Rooms, 2 Family Rooms and 1 Honeymoon Suite, it is the perfect getaway for group bookings, multi-gen family celebrations or just for a group of friends that want to spend quality time together. A beautiful bar, lounge area, infinity pool and boma area all lend themselves to gathering together to share stories from the day's activities.
What to expect at the lodge/reserve
Babanango Valley Lodge sleeps 22 people in 9 luxurious suites. The Honeymoon Suite is set slightly apart from the rest of the lodge for extra privacy.
Each luxury air-conditioned suite includes Wifi, tea and coffee-making facilities, along with sweeping views of the beautiful reserve. The lodge offers delicious meals from the on-site restaurant, with room service for those times when staying in your gown and relaxing is the only option.

Valley Lodge has indoor and outdoor restaurant dining areas, and an outdoor boma, together with a relaxing lounge and library area. The indoor bar opens to a courtyard where guests can enjoy the infinity pool with sun loungers. The Lodge offers complimentary Wi-Fi.
Guests can enjoy guided walking trails and a Copper mine tour within proximity of the lodge.
Guided nature drives are available from the lodge twice a day. Coming soon, guests can experience our Cultural Tours to the nearby battlefield of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift.
Valley Lodge offers guests accommodation in farm-styled rooms overlooking the picturesque Nsubeni River Valley with glistening granite koppies, sandstone cliffs and quartzite ridges
stretching into the far distance where the White Umfolozi River flows. Visitors to Valley Lodge can enjoy the abundance of wildlife in the surrounding Babanango Game Reserve, which boasts 19,895 hectares of pristine wilderness waiting to be explored by conservation and nature enthusiasts.
This rich area harbours abundant game species including Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Jackal, Buffalo, Hippo, Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Kudu, Nyala, Mountain Reedbuck, and the elusive Aardvark and Aardwolf. Lion and Elephant will be introduced by late 2022.
Besides being home to an abundant species of game, our reserve is also home to 32 species of butterflies and 311 species of birds, including the rare Pel's Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon. The Reserve is also home to Black Eagles, Lappet-Faced and White-Backed Vultures, Crowned Eagles and nine breeding pairs of Blue Cranes.

The Romance Suite is set slightly apart from the rest of the lodge for extra privacy. Elegantly furnished and featuring garden and mountain views, this suite is furnished with a four-poster king-size bed, two armchairs, and a bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, toilet and basin. The suite has its own private undercover veranda with outdoor seating. A special turndown service is offered, and daily housekeeping is provided. It also comes with air conditioning and tea-and-coffee-making facilities.
